BREAKING NEWS: The Pity Train has just derailed at the intersection of Suck It Up & Move On, and crashed into We All Have Problems, before coming to a complete stop at Get the Heck Over It. Any complaints about how we operate, can be forwarded to 800-waa-waa with Dr. Snivill. Reporting LIVE from Quitchur Bitchin'. If you like this, re post it. If you don't...suck it up princess!!!
The derailment at the Suck It Up & Move On intersection is just the crash we need to make us do the "pause" I mentioned in the other days blog. If we didn't have that mishap, we may be destined to be on a runaway train of poor pitiful woe is me.
That crash into "we all have problems" needs to be the red flashers that warn you of impending danger if you go further with this behavior. You are not unique in your pain, suffering, trials, errors, let downs, worries or roadblocks, so stop acting like you are the only one experiencing the problems!
The complete stop at "get the heck over it", says just what it means...STOP expecting special attention for your being done wrong...Move on! There is nothing magical, cute, attractive or seemingly martyrdom about constant complaining, crying or pouting to make someone feel guilty because you are angered, hurt or mad. Now I'm not saying you can't or shouldn't share your feelings with someone, because talking to another close friend who listens is important; but don't make misery your constant companion, or it will be your ONLY companion! Your REAL friends will tell you about it, your family will think it, but be too scared (or cowered by your guilt trip) to say anything, and your spouse or significant other will only agree to get you to stop!
I'm sure we have all engaged in these pity parties at one time or another, but the thing we don't realize is that those parties are not very well attended. No one is fighting to get on the "invite" list, there are no long lines waiting around the corner to get in, and its usually not broadcast by anyone (other than the host/hostess) about how it was the party of the century.
