Emotions make you....

I am a wimpy, crybaby when it comes to emotional advertising.  I am the one that can cry from a commercial, and not because I am sick to death of seeing it, but rather, it has touched that spot in my heart that connects me with all other human beings.  That place where emotions dwell.

I can watch a movie a hundred times and still have a rush of happiness, an apprehension of fear and a swell of sadness at all the same scenes, like I've never seen the movie before.  Take for instance, I was watching "You've Got Mail" today, and low and behold the scene where Tom Hanks puts his hand over Meg Ryans mouth and quiets her before she has something to say that "she may spend the rest of her life agonizing over"'; I get the warm rush of  "awww, how sweet."  And of course the ending scene is just enough to make you boo hoo and snot over, no matter that you know what's going to happen.

We all have that emotional place that makes us gush over babies, laugh hysterically at something funny, have a profound sadness or love uncontrollably.  Some people however; are really good at hiding their feelings for fear of another's reaction or how it may make them look; but for the most part, we all behave in a similar manner when it comes to emotions.
Now that's not to say we all don't show those emotions differently, but somewhere those feelings are waiting to rise to the surface, to connect us all on a level that reveals the vulnerable sides of our tough, everyday masks that we wear to try to show the world we are in total control.

Let today be a day that you let your guard down.  Starting with those closest to you, the next time you "feel" an emotion, let yourself actually take the time to experience the feeling, with all the highs, lows and in betweens that come with it, and be sure to make a mental note how you felt and how others reacted to your display.  You just may be surprised!
